Chamber Ambassadors

Chamber Ambassadors are a group of businessmen and women who are an extension of the Chamber team. They are committed to helping the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce fulfill its mission of providing leadership in fostering a dynamic business environment for the entire community. Ambassadors are the first people to greet you at monthly Business After Hours, assist with the annual Golf Tournament and Business Expo, attend grand openings and ribbon cuttings, assist with event registrations, and seek out sponsors and donations for the annual Chamber Experience. The Ambassador program is a premier business-networking program, and the Ambassadors are the backbone of the Chamber volunteer force.

Chamber Ambassadors meet once a month from August through July from 4:00-5:00 PM. Applications to join the Ambassador program are accepted in June of each year. The program is an excellent way for chamber members to network while building business relationships throughout the community.

Committees

Governmental Affairs

The Governmental Affairs committee works to establish and maintain the best business environment through local, State, and Federal Advocacy programs. This committee is responsible for making recommendation about policy as well as issues. These main focuses are most clearly seen through the State Leadership Luncheon, State of the County, Federal Trip to Washington DC and the Grits and Issues event held locally. The Chamber represents over 1,100 members and nearly 25,000 employees and our voices are always stronger together than they ever will be apart.

Special Projects

The Special Projects Committee works to handle all events, communications, and special projects that the Chamber takes on every year. Some examples of this are the Statewide Red Carpet Tour, Chamber Experience, and the Chamber’s Golf Tournament. Special Projects help to raise money through events to further the mission and vision of the Chamber. This Committee is also responsible for all of the communications from the Chamber which include the Candid Community Conversations, Newsletters, and all Social Media. One of the biggest accomplishments was the changing of the brand and logo.

Workforce and Education

The Workforce and Education Committee works on two of the main objectives in the Chamber’s strategic plan: the creation of a pipeline of future leaders and workers. It is vital to all companies in the Golden Isles to have a well trained and educated workforce. Just as important is the leadership that will help run the businesses in the future. Some of the main programs in Workforce and Education Committee are Leadership Glynn, Youth Leadership Glynn, and the current Workforce Development Study. This Committee is a joint committee with the Golden Isles Development Authority.

Business Development

The Business Development Committee works hard to ensure that employees at your business have the training that they need to be successful and make better employees. The committee is responsible for membership recruitment and retention, small business, industrial affairs, and the business education series. Business Development ensures that members have needs met through a variety of ways including educational courses, networking opportunities, and promotion.
